Mika Singh has opened up about a negative experience while working on his debut production, Dangerous, which featured Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the singer-producer revealed the massive financial losses he faced and criticized the couple for their alleged unprofessionalism.
Mika shared that he had initially budgeted around Rs 4 crores for the film, but the final costs spiraled to Rs 14-15 crores. The movie, shot in London with a team of 50, encountered several hurdles when Bipasha joined the project. Mika claimed that she caused unnecessary delays, leading to complications on set. Initially, the film was meant to star Karan Singh Grover and a low-budget actress, but Bipasha’s involvement disrupted the original plan. Mika emphasized his focus on music but stated that Bipasha’s behavior derailed the project.
The singer also revealed that a planned kissing scene between the lead couple was scrapped when Bipasha refused to go ahead with it last minute, despite it being part of the script. Mika further claimed that while payments were made on time, the production was marred by constant delays, even during the dubbing process. He cited further issues with both Bipasha and Karan’s health as excuses for their delays.
Mika expressed his disappointment, stating, “Karma has caught up with them,” referencing their current lack of work. Despite the challenges, Mika managed to complete the film, though it resulted in heavy financial losses.
