Miley Cyrus recently opened up about her relationship with her 26-year-old boyfriend, Maxx Morando, and how their six-year age gap actually works to their advantage. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 31-year-old singer explained that their differences, particularly the generational gap, complement each other in a unique way.
Cyrus shared that Maxx has a very different outlook on life compared to her. She mentioned that he’s more forward-thinking, likely because he grew up in the digital age, surrounded by technology and social media. As an example, she pointed out how Maxx often references Reddit for advice—like when it comes to raising their dog. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters,” she recalled, laughing about how Maxx would rely on Reddit for tips, even on pet care. “I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.’”
Despite their age difference, Miley says they’ve developed a strong connection since meeting on a blind date in 2021. The two have been romantically linked ever since, and Cyrus has expressed how much she enjoys working creatively with Maxx, particularly as they collaborate on new music. She emphasized how important it is for her to work with people she cares about, and Maxx definitely fits that mold.
Though their relationship is fairly private, Miley did reveal that they enjoy spending time indoors, playing music, and just enjoying each other’s company. She also pointed out that, despite their different approaches to life, Maxx is very similar to her in many ways. “We just don’t take life too seriously,” she said, highlighting their shared outlook on life.
Even with her high-profile past relationship with Liam Hemsworth making headlines, Miley has managed to keep things relatively low-key with Maxx, focusing on their personal connection rather than seeking attention.
