Mithoon and Arijit Singh’s latest track Dhun from Mohit Suri’s blockbuster Saiyaara has made its mark on the global stage, entering the Spotify Top 100 Global Charts at #97. The song, which has already crossed nearly 50 million cumulative streams and found a spot on Spotify’s Viral Global 50, is the second track from the ₹541 crore-grossing film to achieve this milestone.
For composer-singer Mithoon, the success of Dhun represents more than just chart performance. Calling the journey “extraordinary,” he shared that the achievement highlights the growing recognition of Indian cinema’s musical artistry worldwide. “This achievement represents not just personal success, but the growing recognition of Indian cinema’s musical artistry on the world stage. I’m deeply grateful to see our authentic storytelling resonate with listeners everywhere,” he said, adding that creating the song was “a deeply emotional experience” and that its reception is “immensely rewarding” a true “celebration of Indian music’s global potential.”
The song reunites Mithoon, Arijit Singh and director Mohit Suri, a team that has previously delivered some of Bollywood’s most enduring hits, including tracks from Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Malang and Half Girlfriend.
Arijit expressed that working with the duo again felt like “returning to a creative sanctuary” and that Dhun “embodies that magic” while giving him immense joy to see it embraced by listeners. Mohit described the success of both Dhun and the film as “a testament to the power of storytelling and music,” adding with confidence, “With Mithoon around me, it’s never a surprise.”
Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has already become the second-highest-grossing film of 2025. Its music is being hailed as a landmark for Bollywood on the global stage, and with its Netflix release set for September 12, its audience reach is expected to grow even further.
