Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet jokes about Chappell Roan’s Grammy performance

Chappell Roan had a standout moment at the 2025 Grammys, not just for her high-energy performance of Pink Pony Club but also for her powerful speech after winning Best New Artist.

Her rodeo-themed performance featured dancing clowns, which caught the attention of Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet. The actor, famous for playing Cameron Tucker and his clown alter ego Fizbo, couldn’t resist making a joke about it. He posted on Instagram, saying, “Yes, Fizbo WAS in @chappellroan’s Grammy performance… I was way, way, way back. Off the stage. At home. In my chair. But the makeup was most definitely on point and Fizbo approved!”

Roan, who had her first-ever Grammy appearance, delivered a passionate speech after winning Best New Artist, calling for fair wages and healthcare for musicians. She addressed record labels directly, saying, “Labels, we got you, but do you got us?”—a statement that earned her a standing ovation from an emotional audience.

She won over strong contenders, including Sabrina Carpenter, Benson Boone, Doechii, Khruangbin, RAYE, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims.
