MP to launch COVID-19 ‘Vaccination Mahaabhiyan’ on International Yoga Day

In an effort to stop severe COVID-19 situation and a possible third-wave, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday announced that the state would start a ‘Vaccination Mahaabhiyan’, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, on Monday June 21.

He also mentioned that the government aims at vaccinating over 10 lakh people at its centres tomorrow itself. 7,000 centres are found out , an attempt are going to be made to vaccinate over 10 lakh people at these centres tomorrow itself,” he said.

“It is vital that we take precautionary steps timely (before the possible third wave) to avoid the type of havoc the second wave of the pandemic had,” he added.

The Chief Minister requested all residents to return forward and participate within the drive. He also urged the people to not believe the myths related to the vaccine and to rather consider the scientific facts.

Meanwhile, India has recorded a decline in daily cases, bringing the tally to 60,753 on Saturday morning, from over 62,000 on Friday morning, consistent with the information released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The entire number of coronavirus cases reported within the country is around 2,98,23,546. India also reported 1,647 deaths, taking the price to over 3.85 lakh.

With the active cases being 2.55% of the entire caseload of the country, therefore the recovery rate improving to 96.16%, India seems to be heading towards the top of the second wave for now.
