Actor Mrunal Thakur has finally addressed the persistent rumours that she is seeing actor Dhanush and cricketer Shreyas Iyer. She opted for humour over a formal statement. Mrunal posted a humorous Instagram video on Sunday, December 1, which subtly addressed rumours about her personal life.
She rests peacefully while her mother massages her head in the little video. Despite the buzzing rumours on the internet, Mrunal Thakur appears at ease as he smiles at the camera. “They talk, we laugh. P.S. Rumours are free PR and I love free stuff!” The line instantly attracted attention and was perceived as her way of shutting down the chatter without naming anyone.
For weeks, there have been rumours regarding Mrunal and Shreyas Iyer. They were allegedly secretly dating, according to a number of social media posts, and conversations on Reddit fuelled the rumour. Mrunal was also connected to Dhanush prior to these rumours becoming popular. More conversation was stirred by their joint presence at the Son of Sardaar 2 premiere earlier this year.
According to India Today, some social media users asserted that her interactions with Dhanush’s Instagram posts and even his family members were “proof” of a romantic engagement. Neither Mrunal nor any member of her staff have provided an explanation thus far. According to her latest video, she will only react humorously and would rather keep her private life out of the spotlight.
Mrunal is occupied with her next film projects, even as her personal life continues to garner media attention. Her most recent appearance was in Son of Sardaar 2, which starred Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan, and Ajay Devgn. Do Deewane Seher Mein, a love drama helmed by Ravi Udyawar, is her upcoming release. Supported by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal, and Bharat Kumar Ranga, the movie features Siddhant Chaturvedi opposite her. The movie is set to hit theatres on February 20, 2026.
