On Wednesday, Anil Arora, Malaika Arora’s father, reportedly committed suicide by plunging from his Mumbai home’s terrace. When Malaika, her sister Amrita Arora, and other celebrities arrived at Anil Arora’s Bandra residence, a number of Mumbai Police officers were on the scene. Malaika’s father filed for divorce from her mother, Joyce Polycarp, during her teenage years.
The motive behind the apparent suicide is still unknown, according to the police, and no suicide note has been found to date. The body has been sent for a post-mortem, the police continued, adding that every possibility is being explored in this case. One of the Mumbai Police quoted, “Anil Arora used to live on the sixth floor. We are carrying out a detailed investigation from all angles… our forensic teams are here for investigation. His body is being sent for postmortem. We are investigating everything. Prima facie, it looks like suicide. We are conducting further investigation.”

Earlier, as per PTI, “It’s true that Malaika’s father passed away this morning. He has not committed suicide; it’s an accident. They are all shocked because he had no ailment or anything as such.” It is believed that when word of her father’s passing spread, Malaika was not home. According to reports, she hurried back to Mumbai from Pune.
