Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui and four other comedians were arrested on Friday evening in Indore for conducting a show accusing Hindu deities with indecent remarks. Police identified them as Edwin Anthony, Prakhar Vyas, Priyam Vyas , Nalin Yadav and were produced in court Saturday and remanded in judicial custody. Complaints were made by Aklavya Laxman Singh Gaur of the Hind Rakshak outfit. The incident after communal clashes took place in Indore, Ujjain, Mandsaur following rallies organised by right-wing groups to spread the word on donations for the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
