The upcoming film “Coolie” has been making waves, but what caught everyone’s attention at its music launch event was the way Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan described Rajinikanth’s unmatched presence on set.
Nagarjuna called working with the superstar a remarkable experience. He said that Rajinikanth’s charisma and aura were something he would always remember. “Working with Rajini sir is fantastic. Something I will take back home. That man’s charisma and aura on set are just outstanding. It was really nice that he helped me with Tamil dialogues and guided me. Though I played the most negative role, I took back something very positive with myself after doing the film,” he shared.
The actor, who plays the antagonist in the film, added that Rajinikanth’s guidance and warmth brought a special energy to the set. He admitted that despite portraying a villain, he walked away with a positive and enriching experience because of Rajinikanth’s influence.
Shruti Haasan also expressed her admiration, calling her first meeting with the superstar surreal. “His aura is like that. The minute you encounter him for the first time, you’re like, ‘Wow, ok, this is like a powerhouse full on’. But I think it was when I saw his face up close, I was like, ‘Oh my God, that is Rajini sir,’” she said.
She went on to praise the work environment created by director Lokesh Kanagaraj, noting how the team’s dedication and passion stood out. “Everyone was so diligently working on their parts, and they were so passionate about it, and I think that credit goes to our director for being able to pull everything together so positively and successfully,” she added.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, “Coolie” features Rajinikanth in the role of Deva, a former gold smuggler seeking revenge. The cast also includes Aamir Khan and Satyaraj. The film will be distributed by Pen Studios and is set to release in theatres on Thursday.
