National Doctors’ Day: Political leaders thanked doctors for their service ongoing pandemic

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “On Doctors Day, my greetings to all doctors. India’s strides in the world of medicine are commendable and have contributed to making our planet healthier.”

As India marked and celebrated National Doctors’ Day today to honour with tribute on birth and death anniversary of Dr B.C Roy, renowned physician and second chief minister of West Bengal, several political leaders paid tribute to all the doctors for their extraordinary service during the pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and tweeted, “On Doctors Day, my greetings to all doctors. India’s strides in the world of medicine are commendable and have contributed to making our planet healthier.”

PM Modi also shared clip of his radio, during Mann Ki Baat wherein he expresses gratitude towards the doctors by thanking them about how they provided us with their service during pandemic “without worrying about their own life.”

Among several other political leaders, it was Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who thanked doctors, by tweeting that “for every single moment” spent by doctors, the nation is “indebted” to them.

BJP leader and Union minister Smriti Irani also came forward to tweet. She mentioned that doctors are “frontline of defence not only during a global pandemic but through every ailment which afflicts.”

Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal, also extended “heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical fraternity” in memory of Dr Roy.
