NBA star Victor Wembanyama finally addresses Britney Spears slap incident

NBA player Victor Wembanyama has finally talked about the alleged slapping of singer Britney Spears by his security official. When Britney tried to catch the NBA star’s attention for a picture on Wednesday night, Wembanyama’s security official named Damian Smith backhanded her, leading her to fall on the ground with her glasses off.

Victor has revealed his story of what occurred that night. He stated that a person (without naming Britney) did not tap him on the shoulder, but rather grabbed him from behind, prompting his security to force her away.

In a chat with  ESPN reporters on Thursday, Victor said, “Something did happen, a little bit, when I was walking with some security from the team to some restaurant.” He added, “We were in the hall. There was a lot of people, so people were calling [at] me, obviously. There was one person who was calling me but we talked before with security.”

Referring to Britney Spears he said, “I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight and didn’t stop. That person grabbed me from behind — not on my shoulder — she grabbed me from behind. I just know the security pushed her away.”

The NBA player also revealed that he was unaware that the individual who approached him on Wednesday was Britney. He said that he found out about her identity a few hours after returning to the hotel.
