On Friday, India’s top javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra made history by winning his second Diamond League title of the season. Chopra’s start in Lausanne was not perfect, as he committed a foul on the first throw, allowing Germany’s Julian Weber to take an early lead with a magnificent throw of 86.20m. However, on his second attempt, Neeraj threw his javelin to a distance of 83.52m, which he improved to 85.04m on his third attempt.
Chopra was improving with each throw, but his fourth effort again led to a foul, despite that, he still seemed confident. The 25-year-old won his second Diamond League title of the year with an 87.66m throw on the fifth attempt. Chopra made history earlier this year with his 88.67m throw to claim the gold medal.

Chopra had an outstanding effort in his return to the mega-competition after a one-month injury break.
Chopra, who won the gold medal in the Olympics in Tokyo, revealed on Twitter last month that he had sustained a muscle strain while training. As a precaution, he had cancelled his participation in the FBK Games in the Netherlands on June 4 and the Paavo Nurmi meet in Finland on June 13.
