Neetu Kapoor remembered her late husband Rishi Kapoor with a special tribute on his 73rd birth anniversary. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, she posted an old video from a live event titled Khullam Khulla – Live with Rishi Kapoor held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in March 2017. The show, inspired by his autobiography Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, saw the veteran actor sharing anecdotes from his illustrious career, leaving the audience entertained.
In the video, Neetu could be seen laughing as Rishi charmed the crowd with his stories, while their son Ranbir Kapoor reflected on the significance of the event. Ranbir said, “A man who has been in the film industry for 40 years now, all the anecdotes and experiences to share it with such a large audience, I think it’s a wonderful idea.” Rishi’s brother Randhir Kapoor also called the show “simply superb.”
Neetu captioned her post, “You will always remain in our hearts, happy birthday,” adding emojis to express her love. Celebrities reacted with warmth, as Sanjay Kapoor commented, “Happy birthday, Chintu. You will always be missed. So fortunate to work with you in Luck by Chance,” while Urmila Matondkar and Sadia Khateeb left heart emojis.
Rishi Kapoor, who passed away in April 2020 after battling leukaemia, left behind an enduring legacy, with his final film Sharmaji Namkeen completed with the support of Paresh Rawal.
