A bus carrying 40 Indian passengers plunged into a river near Marsyangdi in Tanahun district, Nepal. Police believe that all of the bus’s passengers have died.
On August 20, the vehicle with an 8-day permission entered Rupandehi in Nepal via the Belahiya checkpoint close to Gorakhpur.The bus that was travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu lost control and plummeted into a river. Forty Indian citizens were on the bus.Nepal Police hurried to the scene and initiated rescue efforts as soon as they received the information.
According to Tanahun district Deputy Superintendent of Police Deep Kumar Raya, the bus, registered UP FT 7623, lost control, tumbled into a ditch along the road and washed into the Marsyangdi River. Each and every passenger was an Indian national. It is thought that every passenger on the bus died in the incident. More information about this, though, hasn’t been made public.
He said that the bus was travelling from Pokhara, Nepal, to Kathmandu. The mishap happened as they were travelling through the Tanahun district. According to an Armed Police Force of Nepal official, 14 bodies have been discovered till this moment .The rest are being searched after. However, the intense rain has made the rescue effort more difficult.
Furthermore, Nepal’s constant rains over the last two months have caused multiple landslides and floods, resulting in around 200 fatalities. The region has been seriously affected by the excessive rain that fell between June and September, especially in the mountainous parts.
