The head that wears the crown is heavy, and one can only assume that weight increases during youth. In what appears to be the year’s most regal romance, Bridgerton’s upcoming prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Tale will explore precisely that. The Netflix movie centers on the young monarch’s journey to officially meet, fall in love with, and eventually wed the young King George III, who was then known as Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (India Amarteifio) (Corey Mylchreest). Presumably, the narrative will also focus on her ascent to become the Ton’s principal ruler. The new program will be the first time anyone gets to see Charlotte as a queen in her younger years, even though fans have already seen Queen Charlotte as an adult (Golda Rosheuvel) in the Bridgerton series. In advance of the series, eager fans have been offered a brand-new peek at the youthful Queen Charlotte.

Netflix has recently dropped another clip of the upcoming ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’. Check it out below.

Trailer Analysis

Amarteifio’s queenly counterpart commands attention with a dazzling silver crown that glistens with opulence from every stone and overpowers her lush brown wig. Charlotte wears eye-catching jewelry from her wrists to her neck in the shape of a rich necklace and dazzling bracelet, making her seem every bit the real royal spectacle. She is dressed in a sophisticated pale blue ballgown with contrast fluted sleeves to complete the ensemble. The video showcases Charlotte’s easy elegance as well as her power as she holds her hands on her hips and stands tall.

In the main series and in the summary of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Tale, which characterizes her as “beautiful, headstrong, and fiercely intelligent,” Queen Charlotte’s resiliency and stability are themes that run through her nature. Yet, as implied in a synopsis of the story, it appears that the British court will not necessarily applaud this power. Not only that, but Charlotte will also have to deal with her new husband’s fragile secrets and the sociological revolution that the royal wedding has sparked in the Ton.

What to expect from Queen Charlotte series?

The series will mostly center on Charlotte, but it will also reveal more about young King George, whose life is only vaguely known to viewers through morsels provided throughout Bridgerton. Young versions of Lady Bridgerton and Lady Danbury are also expected to emerge, and it appears that their tales will converge much as they do as adults.

Netflix will start streaming Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Tale on May 4. On May 9, the narrative will also be published as a novel co-written by Bridgerton novelist Julia Quinn and series creator Shonda Rhimes. The video of the young Queen Charlotte is shown here.
