New Zealand joins other nations in declaring climate emergency

Speaking to the Parliament, New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern joined 30 other countries by signing a declaration in declaring climate emergency. She said that the declaration is based on science and they must act in urgency to stop further deterioration. She mentions the declaration acts as the acknowledgement of the fact that the burden of their misdoings will be carried by the new generation and they must get their house in order. The PM plans to make its public sector carbon neutral by 2025 via buying electric or hybrid cars.
