New Zealand’s Devon Conway scored exactly 200 runs against England at Lords and became the seventh batsman in Test cricket’s 144-year history to make a double century on debut. He is also the second New Zealand batsman to have made a double century on his test debut and the oldest player to score the double century at 29 years and 329 days old in the first innings of the match.

Conway’s inning ensured a place on the famed dressing room honours board at the ‘home of cricket’ was also the second-highest by a New Zealand batsman in a test at Lords behind Martin Donnelly’s 206 in 1949. He is also the seventh person to score a double century on his debut.

New Zealand scored 378 runs in the first inning, moving on to England’s inning, they manage to score 111 runs with two wickets down on the end of day 2. England is trailing by 267 runs, Rory Joseph Burns and Joe Root are on 59 runs and 42 runs respectively. England is in a good position and if they continue their form, then the pressure gets back on the Black-Caps.

Furthermore, England has a packed season this year as they have to play series against India and Ashes in Australia, if they win the series against New Zealand, that will definitely give them a huge confidence boost.
