Nicki Minaj ‘swatted’ by callers claiming her 2-year-old son was abused

Nicki Minaj stated that she was the victim of a ‘swatting’ attack, in which an anonymous individual falsely reported to police that her two-year-old kid was being abused. According to Minaj, the caller allegedly contacted local child services and Los Angeles Police Department sheriff’s officers later arrived at her California residence this week. Minaj shares her little son with her husband Kenneth Petty.

Police talked with Minaj, inspected the baby and found no evidence of abuse. However, a few hours later, another prankster called 911 and said there was a fire at Minaj’s home. Soon later, it was found that the calls were fake and Minaj was swatted.

Swatting, which has been done since the early 200s, is defined as a dangerous and illegal prank in which an individual makes a fake call to an emergency number to report false incidents in order to bring highly armed law enforcement to a specific region. This is how the name SWAT came into being. Swatting is a criminal offence, and the culprit may face legal action. Swatting can result in a suspect being charged with harassment, endangerment, or other criminal offences, as well as civil lawsuits for any harm to property or emotional distress caused by the law enforcement response.
