NICMAR University, Pune campus, has announced the introduction of two new postgraduate diploma programmes aimed at strengthening managerial talent across India’s construction and infrastructure value chain.
The new programmes — PGD in Asset and Facilities Management and PGD in Ready-Mix Concrete Management — respond to growing industry concerns around the availability of specialised talent for asset operations and construction quality assurance. Industry reports estimate a 15–20% demand growth in facilities management by 2030, while the RMC sector is expected to grow at 8% CAGR through 2027.
The Asset and Facilities Management course focuses on post-construction asset performance, while the Ready-Mix Concrete Management course builds expertise in concrete technology, plant operations and logistics.
According to Dr Tapash Kumar Ganguli, Director-General (Interim), NICMAR, “By consulting with industry partners and practitioners, these two new programmes at NICMAR University, Pune Campus – Asset and Facilities Management and Ready-Mix Concrete Management – have been developed to align training with on-ground requirements. The curriculum emphasises applied learning, case-based instruction and exposure to real-world project environments, reflecting the increasing demand for technically grounded managers rather than purely theoretical qualifications.”
