No COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 26-27

States in India are anticipated to take a break from the COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 26-27 to be held all over the country. The Union Health Ministry has instructed the states to do so, reported Economic Times.

The Health Ministry has asked the states not to plan vaccination drive on Republic Day. The states will use the break period to check the COVID-19 vaccine stockpile and review their database.

A senior Health Ministry official told Economic Times that the break will be used to formulate plans on how to cover the remaining beneficiaries over the next two weeks. “The states would plan their sessions, increase session sites and gauge their stockpile of vaccines in this time,” the official added.
