Home Minister Amit Shah, in a rally in Nowshera on Sunday, emphasized the government’s strong stance on terrorism, stating that no stone pelter or terrorist would be released in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that there would be no discussions with Pakistan until terrorism is eradicated. Shah’s remarks were made during a campaign event supporting J-K BJP president Ravinder Raina.
It was mentioned that the NC-Congress alliance’s manifesto promised to release stone pelters and terrorists if they formed the government. Shah stressed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, terrorism would be eliminated, stating, “No terrorist or stone pelter will be released.”
The NC and Congress were accused of advocating for talks with Pakistan, but Shah made it clear that no dialogue would occur until terrorism was wiped out. He expressed his preference to engage with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, whom he referred to as “lions,” rather than holding discussions with Pakistan.
Shah also referred to underground bunkers constructed for the safety of border residents, claiming they would soon become unnecessary due to the government’s firm response to threats from across the border.
In response to comments made by NC-Congress leaders on reservation, Shah asserted that no one would be allowed to alter the reservation system for communities like Paharis, Gujjars, Dalits, and other backward classes. He criticized Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in the U.S., where Gandhi reportedly suggested there was no need for reservation, assuring that it would remain intact for deserving communities.
