Novak Djokovic’s son Stefan congratulate Carlos Alcaraz after Wimbledon win, video goes viral

Even at the age of 9, Novak Djokovic’s son, Stefan, showed amazing maturity after witnessing his father’s defeat in the Wimbledon 2023 final. Carlos Alcaraz, the world number one, stunned the 23-time Grand Slam champion in a thrilling five-setter on Sunday evening to win his first Wimbledon title and add to his Majors tally, which includes the 2022 US Open. Despite the defeat, Stefan made a kind gesture for Alcaraz in a viral video minutes after the Wimbledon final.

Stefan sat in Djokovic’s box for the entire four hours and 42 minutes of the final on Sunday, smiling even as the Serb lost in the final set, ending his decade-long dominance on Centre Court and losing himself a shot at not one, but two Open Era records.

The Djokovic family met Alcaraz as he walked through the corridor at the All England Club during the post-match presentation show. As they shook hands, Stefan was among the first to congratulate him, followed by Jelena, Djokovic’s spouse. Hugh Jackman, a Hollywood celebrity, was also present.

Djokovic was gracious in his defeat and acknowledged that he hadn’t truly met a player of Alcaraz’s calibre despite losing the chance to win an incredible 24th major and becoming the joint-most successful player at Wimbledon, levelling Roger Federer. In fact, he compared him to the Big Three of men’s singles tennis.
