BAFTA-winning British actor Emily Watson, who was previously seen in the hit HBO series Chernobyl, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who is known for his roles in Farming and Suicide Squad, are all set to play the lead roles in the upcoming World War II drama ‘Late In Summer’. According to reports, the movie will be directed by Novelist, Author, and Journalist Talitha Stevenson, who will be making her directorial debut with the movie from her own script.
The movie, which is set in rural Cornwall, tells a romantic drama tale that will chart a brief encounter between a lonely wife of a farmer and a Black American soldier of the United States Army, that eventually leads to first love in middle life and a near-impossible choice, making it a compelling story of two forces which will be exploring a bigger socio-political context.
The movie is produced by Debbie Gray of Genesius Productions, who had previously produced the movie Good Luck to You Leo Grande, along with actor Timothy Spall and actor Rafe Spall will be serving as executive producers for the movie. The movie also boasts of the Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan, who is known for her work in Mad Max: Fury Road, Oscar-winning music composer Dario Marianelli, known for the work in the movie Atonement; Production Designer Jennifer Williams, who is well-known for her work in the movie Christopher Robin; and Editor Helle Le Hevre, known for the movie The Souvenir. The production for Late In Summer is scheduled for autumn of 2021.
