O Romeo earned Rs. 1.25 crore nett approx. on its second Monday, pushing it above the Rs. 50 crore nett milestone for an eleven-day total of Rs. 50.75 crore nett approx. The decline from the second Friday is 35%, which is nice but not significant when the base is low enough to be considered poor.
The Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri film grossed approximately Rs. 8.75 crore nett in the first four days of its second week. The total revenue for the second week is expected to be around Rs. 12 crore net.
There will be competition from The Kerala Story 2 next week, but the next two weeks are open weeks, therefore it will most likely continue to play in cinemas until Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic (Hindi) are set to debut on March 19th. This could result in a Rs. 60 crore nett final.
Not that it changes anything for the picture; it was once thought that hitting Rs. 50 crore nett would be impossible, but thanks to BOGO offers and this open run, it has done so and more. The BOGO offers may increase the NETT statistics slightly, but they have a negative impact on SHARE because you are paying for an additional free ticket, which comes out of SHARE. While it may not be economically beneficial, it is still preferable than outright feeding. The results are consistent with director Vishal Bhardwaj, who has had limited success at the box office throughout his career.
His collaborations with Shahid Kapoor have fared better, particularly Kaminey and Haider. Rangoon performed poorly, and this one has followed suit.
