While travelling with her nephew in the Angul district of Odisha, a woman allegedly walked to a roadside jungle to urinate and was raped, according to police on Thursday. According to an official cited by news agency PTI, the Odisha Police have detained three individuals in relation to the event, including two kids.
According to the police, the incident occurred as the survivor was riding a motorbike back from Chhendipada. According to authorities, she stopped en route and walked to a jungle by the side of the road to relieve herself. Three individuals then arrived on a tractor and sexually abused her. The victim filed a complaint with the Bagdia police station on Tuesday, despite the fact that the event happened on July 3. A case has been filed by the police, and an investigation is still on.
In order to apprehend the accused, police claimed in a statement that three teams were established and that they operated directly under the superintendent of police’s (SP) direction. According to a police statement, all three of the accused—including two minors—were taken into custody on Wednesday after a forensic team and dog squads were dispatched for further investigation.
According to the article, the police have seized biological exhibits, the accused people’s cell phones, the tractor, and the clothing they were wearing when the crime was committed. Police stated that the chargesheet will be submitted within 30 days and that the case has been classified as a “special report” and a “Red Flag” case.
According to an officer on Thursday, Odisha Police arrested three people, including a minor, in an unrelated incident on suspicion of raping an 11-year-old girl in the Mayurbhanj district on multiple occasions over the course of more than a month. The survivor’s brother-in-law is among those detained, according to PTI.
After the girl’s mother filed a formal complaint (FIR) with the Khunta police station on August 3, claiming that the youngster had been raped at several locations between June 14 and July 27, the arrests were made on Wednesday.
