Oh Young Soo exits ‘Big Family’ film amid legal controversy, Lee Soon Jae takes over the role

In a big casting change, Squid Game star Oh Yeong-soo has been replaced by actor Lee Soon-jae in the forthcoming movie Big Family. On February 5, Oh Yeong-soo’s management company Lotte Entertainment affirmed the news. Big Family, which is helmed by Yang Woo-seok, is described as a family drama; the film’s release date is yet unknown. Yang Woo-seok is well-known for outstanding films such as the 2013 thriller drama The Attorney and the 2017 action thriller Steel Rain. Oh Yeong-soo’s exit from the major production comes as the actor faces a one-year jail sentence for sexual harassment.

A Lotte Entertainment spokesman presently said,  “Oh Young-soo is stepping down from ‘Big Family.’ Lee Soon-jae will take on the role in his place.”

As per reports, Oh Yeong-soo was accused of grabbing and kissing a lady without her consent in 2017. In December 2021, the lady filed a lawsuit against the actor for sexual harassment. The case was dropped in April of the following year, but it was reopened at the request of the accuser. Oh Yeong-soo was booked in November 2022 and charged with sexual misconduct.
