In accordance to Mr Chautala’s lawyer Amit Sahni, the Tihar authorities had communicated that the government of Delhi had passed an order concerning the special remission. He further expressed, “It had been a long battle to seek justice for Chautala.” He informed that they had approached the Delhi High Court on several occasion regarding the former Chief Minister release. “The Delhi High Court has reprimanded the Delhi government for not considering his early release despite his fulfilling all parameters.” he added.

The Indian National Lok Dal which currently does not have any MLA in the Haryana Assembly, will be looking forward for a comeback with their president’s return. The veteran leader will not be able to contest election in the following six years owing to his conviction.
