“Once Upon a Studio” trailer out now: Watch

The end of Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration is quickly approaching as the year draws to a close. There is still more to look forward to, though, as a first peek at Once Upon A Studio, a forthcoming short film honouring 100 years of Disney magic, was shared on the official Disney Animation Twitter page. The clip will air on October 15 during the ABC premiere of The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.

About the Trailer

The short’s television debut was also announced, and a first look was made public. It shows a slew of well-known Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy, walking around the animation studio. Characters from Disney’s animated film repertoire, both old and new, like Peter Pan, Moana, and Winnie the Pooh, to mention a few, will make their own appearances in the moving tribute to the studio’s enduring heritage over the past century.

Disney has undoubtedly undergone significant change over the past 100 years, and the short seeks to honour all the studio’s various eras by combining classic hand-drawn animation and CGI. More information about the short remains a secret, but given that it will air for the first time on television in less than a month, fans won’t have to wait long to experience some Disney magic when Once Upon a Studio debuts on television this fall.

There are still more Disney 100 events coming up this year

Despite the fact that Disney 100 will soon come to an end, the legendary animation studio nevertheless intends to close the year on a high note with the release of Wish, their most recent animated picture, which enchants theatres this Thanksgiving. With its focus on Asha (Ariana DeBose), a 17-year-old who encounters a magical wishing star and must thwart the evil powers of her kingdom’s ruler, King Magnifico (Chris Pine), the movie seeks to tie together the themes of previous Disney productions. The film will also be a first for the company as it makes use of a 2D/3D hybrid animation method that gives the picture a watercolour appearance that mimics the feel of the medium.
There is no better time to enjoy Disney magic than when Once Upon a Studio and Wish make their debuts this Autumn, with two animated productions scheduled for release this year.
