Only a fourth of the workforce expected by TCS to be in office by 2025

According to Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Tata Sons Pvt Chairman, the adoption of digital technologies have been accelerated by at least a decade as the pandemic has changed the nature of work, and engaging more women, ushering in a hybrid model where work extends beyond offices.

As per the head of India’s largest private-sector employer during the Qatar Economic Forum on Tuesday, Although the staff will gradually return while the office remains a critical hub, the world won’t return to its pre-COVID norm. Workplaces shall benefit from allowing staff greater leeway along with the help of technology as mentioned by the Indian executive joined by employers such as log plc Chief Executive Officer Mark Dixon.

The 150-year-old steel-to-airlines conglomerate got scrambled to adapt to locked down restrictions as the pandemic hit India in the early 2020s. Continuing to deliver software projects along with support to Wall Street banks, airlines and retailers, nearly half a million workers began working from home within weeks at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

Many of the employees asked for a return to the office even though Tata consultancy declared that it expects only one-fourth of its workforce to be in the office on any given day by 2025. A model somewhere in-between shall have to be adopted by companies as mentioned by Chandrasekaran during a session about the future of work.
