Pakistan gets $800 million debt relief from G20

Pakistan owes $25.4 billion to the group of 20 rich nations as of this year. In April, the G20 announced a freeze on debt repayments for 76 countries, Pakistan being one of them only by making a formal request. The G20 made this initiative considering the impact of COVID-19. Since April, 14 countries like the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, China, France and more have given fiscal relief of $800 million to Pakistan for the time being. Pakistani authorities have scheduled 27 debt rescheduling agreements with 16 countries.
