Pankaj Advani wins Senior Snooker Title defeating Kamal Chawla

ONGC’s star cueist Pankaj Advani extended his supremacy on the green baize by capturing the senior snooker championship during the Western India Billiards and Snooker Championships 2024. Advani, the proud owner of 27 world titles, shown steely had defeated Railways’ bespectacled cueist Kamal Chawla 6-4 in a long-drawn championship that lasted nearly seven hours inside the Khar Gymkhana billiards hall on Sunday night.

Advani, who beat S Shrikrishna to win the three-hour session billiards tournament earlier in the day, currently holds seven consecutive titles in Mumbai, including four snooker and three billiards, in the last two years. Pankaj’s score were 11-72, 31-58, 95-40, 52-42, 69-43, 43-74, 22-59, 75-62, 84-58, and 58-10.

The meal served for both champions was lacklustre, and there was little to cheer for cue sports fans who had come to the location in the hopes of watching top-tier snooker. Both players were very careful in their attempts to surpass each other. Because neither player had the courage to take shots of their own, there were few major pauses and the shots took a long time to complete, causing the match to extend later into the evening.
