Parineeti Chopra is excited, as she is “going to have a very Chamkila Diwali”

Today, Parineeti Chopra is the happiest. She has flown down to celebrate Diwali with her husband, politician Raghav Chadha, and her whole family because it’s one of her favourite holidays. “My birthday, which is a bigger celebration than any other, fell after Karwa Chauth, so it’s a big joyful week for us! (laughs) My whole family has travelled from Ambala to Delhi since it works for them.”

Parineeti, who has been travelling back and forth between Delhi, Mumbai, and London for work, exclaims, “I get to see Raghav, which is the icing on the cake.” Speaking to Hindustan Times, she explains that she had to decide whether to spend the day in Mumbai by herself or with her family.

“Families are the ones who turn it into a festival. In Delhi, it’s common for individuals to visit one another’s homes. I recently returned from a pooja that took place at our house. Seeing how people decorate their homes is amazing,” she continues.

The fact that her most recent appearance in Chamkila, opposite Diljit Dosanjh, was well received in 2024 from all sides adds even more significance to the affair. Chopra laughs and says, “I am going to have a very Chamkila Diwali.”

For the actor, decorating is the most enjoyable aspect of the Festival of Lights, aside from spending time with loved ones. She remembers, “I used to get a box of candles from my mom when I was a kid. I was in charge of placing them in the patio and gardens. I used to enjoy spending that time by myself. I would then quarrel with my brothers Sahaj and Shivang about who would light the candles.

She also adds, “Even now, decor is a major deal to me. I do the selections and make our rangoli. Doing it yourself is what makes decorating your home’s mandir and entryway so beautiful. Even if I were by myself in Mumbai, I would still do it.”
