Park Seo-Joon to star in upcoming MCU movie ‘The Marvels’

The actor who was also a part of the Oscar-winning 2019 film ‘Parasite’ has now bagged his first Marvel project for an unknown role in the sequel movie

South Korean star Park Seo-Joon, who has featured in a number of series like Kill Me, Heal Me, She Was Pretty, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, Fight for My Way, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Itaewon Class; and the films Chronicles of Evil, Midnight Runners, The Divine Fury, the Oscar-winning 2019 movie Parasite, will soon be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to reports, the actor has been roped in for an unknown role in the upcoming sequel movie to the hit 2019 movie Captain Marvel, entitled The Marvels.

The Marvels, which is set to release on November 11, 2022, will be directed by Nia DeCosta and will also have Brie Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Newer additions to the MCU Teyonah Parris, who will be playing Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani, who is cast as Kamala Khan will be seen along with Park Seo-Joon in the movie. According to sources, it was reported that Zawe Ashton has been cast as the antagonist for the upcoming movie.

The casting of Seo-Joon in the MCU movie is said to be huge for the South Korean actor as it marks his big debut into mainstream Holywood. The actor will be adding diversity to the cast of the movie. According to reports, Seo-Joon will be joining Brie Larson and the rest of the cast in the United States to begin filming for the movie in the second half of 2021. The Marvels is one of the most anticipated movies in the MCU, since it not only a follow-up sequel movie for Captain Marvel, but will also be setting the stage to roll out new characters who are expected to take the Marvel franchise forward.
