Paul Pogba reacts on Antonio Rudiger’s ‘biting incident’

German centre-back Antonio Rudiger is accused of biting Paul Pogba after he was caught on the cameras putting his face close to the Manchester United midfielder’s back. Pogba claimed that Rudiger bit him during the Euro 2020 group stage match between France and Germany, but he doesn’t want the player to be banned over the incident despite not liking it. He defended the player and said they both hugged each other leaving the past incident on field.

Frenchman was seen indicating to the referee that Rudiger bit him after the clash between both of the players, he seemed angry but doesn’t want the Chelsea defender to face any prohibition.

“We are friends. That was not something big. This all belongs to the past. I am not crying for yellow or red cards because of such actions. He nibbled me, I think a little bit on me. But we have known each other since long time. I told the referee because he takes the actions and he took it. It’s over. It was a great match for us and I didn’t want him to be suspended because of such a situation. He hasn’t received any cards and it’s better like this. We hugged each other at the end of the match and that’s it,” said Pogba after the match.

France won the Euro 2020 opening Group F fixture 1-0 against Germany through an own goal in the first half from the German defender Mats Hummels.
