Pawan Kalyan fans tear theatre screen in Bengaluru during ‘They Call Him OG’ screening

Telugu superstar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated film, They Call Him OG, hit theatres today, drawing fans in large numbers for first-day, first-show screenings. While the excitement was palpable, celebrations took a chaotic turn in Bengaluru when a group of fans reportedly tore the theatre screen with a sword during the early morning show.

The clip, which quickly circulated on social media, shows fans approaching the screen mid-show and cutting it in a display of over-enthusiasm. The theatre management had to pause the screening to regain control, leaving many viewers disappointed. After discussions between theatre authorities and the fans, the screening resumed after a brief delay.

The incident has drawn strong reactions online. One user questioned, “How can people sneak a sword into a theatre? Here I can’t even get away with snacks.” Another wrote, “Those screens are incredibly expensive. Hopefully, the theatre owner has it covered by insurance.” Others joked about the fans’ extreme devotion, highlighting the chaos caused by the stunt.

Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainment, They Call Him OG marks Emraan Hashmi’s Telugu cinema debut. Alongside Pawan Kalyan, the film stars Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj, and is one of three projects Pawan signed before taking on his political role.
