Petrol prices in Delhi comes close to ₹100/ltr

As petrol prices were hiked by 35 paise on Sunday, petrol came closer to ₹100 marks in the national capital of India, New Delhi. After keeping them unchanged for a day, oil marketing companies hiked the petrol prices on Sunday. This brings diesel at ₹89.36 and petrol at ₹99.51 per litre in Delhi.

Petrol prices continued to climb to new highs in the other key cities as well, it was priced at ₹105.58 per litre in Mumbai while it surpassed the ₹100 marks in Chennai and is currently at ₹100.44 a litre there.

On the weekend, the diesel prices were also raised in tandem with the petrol prices, in Mumbai, the price of diesel was ₹96.91 while in Chennai it was ₹93.91 and ₹92.27 per litre in Calcutta respectively.

The consistent increase in fuel prices has been attributed to the development in the global oil markets where both product and crude prices have been firming up since the past couple of months on demand rise amidst subsiding of the pandemic, by the officials in oil companies.
