PM Meets: Gupkar coalition meets today as NC, Sajad Lone welcome Delhi’s ‘good change’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has scheduled a meeting on June 24 with the political leadership of J&K, the majority of whom were detained following the constitutional changes effected in J&K on August 5, 2019.

As per the scheduled meeting on Tuesday  the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration  of Delhi’s move to initiate talks, with Farooq Abdullah-led National Conference, while mentioning about a “good change”, said there is realization at the Centre that it cannot move forward in J&K without the mainstream political parties.

People’s Conference chairman Sajad Lone,  held discussions Monday with his colleagues, after the discussion it came in touch The Indian Express agency and said that, “This is a welcome development. Coming at the level of the Prime Minister, it speaks of the seriousness of this engagement. Given what has happened in the last two years, I am hoping that this could herald the start of a new phase of reconciliation.”

PM Narendra Modi has scheduled a conference on June 24 with the political leaders of J&K, the majority of them  were confined under the constitutional changes which has effected in J&K since August 5, 2019.

The meeting is held at the Centre as which is the first crucial step for the return of elected representatives and the holding of Assembly elections eventually held in the two Union Territories to end Central rule as imposed since June 2018.

There were indications made on Monday that, the government is optimistic about the turnout which is going to be held at the June 24 for roundtable conference amongst the 14 leaders who have been invited by the Union Home Secretary for the conclave.

The Prime Minister is expected to impulse leaders during the time of June 24 conclave and to have a  cooperation between the Delimitation Commission and also can set the electoral process moving it ahead.
