PM Modi says, “Nations that invest in healthcare will shine”

PM Modi, on Thursday, said healthcare will be the key sector to play a role in shaping the future. While inaugurating numerous project at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry, Modi said “nations that invest in healthcare will shine.”

While inaugurating Blood Centre, in JIPMER, Modi said that the project will be a state-of-the-art facility that will cater to the healthcare needs. The project cost 28 crore and is being set up to provide a modern health care facility as well as to train healthcare professionals.

This new facility will accommodate advanced facilities for the long-term storage of blood and stem-cells. The facility will function as a research laboratory and training centre for personnel training in all aspects of transfusion.

PM also highlighted the boost given to the healthcare ‘education’ during the Budget. He said, “Learning and education are true wealth as all other things are not stable. For quality healthcare, we need qualified professionals.”

The new Jipmer campus in Karaikal is a step toward helping healthcare professionals develop their skills, says PM Modi.
