PM Modi to virtually launch vaccination drive on Jan 16

The Union Health Ministry today revealed that the Prime Minister of India will launch the national vaccination drive against COVID-19 on Saturday. The launch will be held virtually and Mr. Modi is also expected to talk with few of the health care workers.

On the first day of the vaccination drive around 3,00,000 health care workers are expected to receive the vaccination across 2934 sites all over India. The Prime minister is also expected to launch the much awaited CO-WIN app.

The Indian government is planning to vaccinate around 300 million high risk people in next 3 months which includes 30 million front-line workers and about 270 million people over the age of 50.
