PM Modi to visit Bangladesh on March 26

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Bangladesh on March 26. The Prime Minister will celebrate Bangladesh’s 50th anniversary of freedom in 1971.

The visit to Dhaka will be PM’s first abroad visit in 15 months. PM will preside as the chief guest for the event organized by President Sheikh Haseena’s government. The event will memorialize Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation of Bangladesh declaring the then East Pakistan as Bangladesh.

External affairs minister S Jaishankar said the relations between India and Bangladesh as a “360-degree partnership.”

Sheikh Haseena declared that “India is our true friend” in a summit in December.

PM Modi will inaugurate the ‘Maitri Setu’, a bridge built over the Feni river, between India and Bangladesh tomorrow, March 9 via video conference.
