PM Narendra Modi awarded with Kuwait’s highest honour, 20th international award

On Sunday, The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer, Kuwait’s highest decoration, was given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is the 20th international honour that a nation has given him.

Foreign leaders like George W. Bush, Prince Charles, and Bill Clinton have already received it.During his visit to the country last month, PM Modi received “The Order of Excellence,” Guyana’s highest national honour. Kuwait has a knighthood order called “The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer.” As a token of friendship, it is given to heads of state, foreign sovereigns, and members of foreign royal families.

PM Modi shared on X, “I am honoured to be conferred the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. I dedicate this honour to the people of India and to the strong friendship between India and Kuwait.”

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to my friend President Irfaan Ali for conferring upon me Guyana’s highest award. This is a living proof of your deep commitment to our relations which will continue to inspire us to move forward in every field,” Modi adds.

The “Dominica Award of Honour” was also given to the prime minister by Dominican President Sylvanie Burton.During his state visit to Kuwait, the prime minister was welcomed with great ceremony. At Kuwait’s Bayan Palace, he received a formal guard of honour. Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, was also in attendance at the event.

The Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson on X also provided information about the meeting. “A warm welcome on this momentous occasion! PM @narendramodi is greeted ceremoniously and accompanied by the Guard of Honour upon his arrival at Kuwait’s Bayan Palace. warmly welcomed by Kuwait’s prime minister, HH Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah. There will be lengthy discussions with Kuwait’s PM, Crown Prince, and HH the Amir.”
