On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi a long and healthy life on her 77th birthday.

Along with the prime minister, Congress members Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal and Shashi Tharoor, as well as Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, extended wishes to the former Congress chief.
Kharge stated that Gandhi has been a relentless advocate for the rights of the marginalised. “A relentless advocate of the rights of the marginalised, she has been a symbol of utmost grace while battling adversity with courage, grit and selfless sacrifice. I wish her a long and healthy life.”
Venugopal stated that Gandhi’s commitment to serving the public cause and uplifting the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society has won over a billion hearts.
Tharoor hailed Gandhi, saying she led the Congress with distinction and continues to be an inspiration to all of its leaders and workers. “Long may she enjoy health & happiness and continue to guide our party & serve our nation,” the Congress leader added.
