PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in the Uttar Pradesh temple town of Ayodhya on Saturday, right after launching the renovated Ayodhya railway station and flagging off two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains.

The Phase 1 of the state-of-the-art airport has cost more than 1450 crore. The terminal building at the airport will be 6,500 square meters large and can service about 10 lakh passengers annually. The facade of the terminal building depicts the temple architecture of the upcoming Ram Mandir of Ayodhya.

The terminal building’s interiors are decorated with local art, paintings, and murals representing Lord Ram’s life. The Ayodhya Airport terminal building additionally includes different sustainability features, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, a solar power plant, and numerous additional features to meet GRIHA – 5-star ratings.

The airport will improve connectivity in the region, resulting in more tourist, business activities and job opportunities.
