Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes found himself at the center of a harrowing incident on December 18, 2024, when a man who had already committed a triple murder earlier that day appeared at his home, allegedly intending to kill him. According to Berwyn, Illinois police, the assailant, identified as 24-year-old John Lyons from Westchester, Illinois, had earlier murdered three people before targeting Fuentes.
Fuentes shared security footage on social media platform X, showing Lyons approaching his front door armed with a pistol and a crossbow. In the footage, Lyons rings the doorbell, attempts to open the door, and calls out, “Yo Nick!” At the time, Fuentes was livestreaming and later posted, “The killer parked his car in front of my house and approached my door with his pistol drawn and what appears to be a crossbow.”
Following the encounter, Fuentes took to X to describe the incident, revealing that Lyons was also carrying incendiary devices. Fuentes stated, “Last night an armed killer made an attempt on my life at my home, which was recently doxxed on this platform… He is now dead. I am okay!” Fuentes indicated that the incident has prompted him to relocate and invest in private security.
When police arrived, Lyons fled the scene, broke into a neighbor’s home, and killed two dogs. After evading officers once again, Lyons confronted them in a nearby yard and opened fire. In the ensuing exchange, police shot and killed him. No officers were injured.
Earlier that day, Lyons was wanted for a triple homicide in Mahomet, Illinois, where 61-year-old Janis Mason, 26-year-old Sara Mason, and 23-year-old Caleb Mason were fatally shot. The connection between Lyons and the victims remains unclear, and his motive for potentially targeting Fuentes has not yet been determined.
Fuentes’ home address had been leaked online in November, which he says led to the attempt on his life. He has been a controversial figure, described by the Anti-Defamation League as a “white supremacist leader” and known for his provocative statements. The doxxing reportedly occurred after Fuentes posted the phrase “Your body, my choice” following Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.
This marked the second time someone had arrived at Fuentes’ residence since his personal information was exposed. Earlier in December, 57-year-old Marla Rose showed up at his home, allegedly due to Fuentes’ inflammatory online statements. Fuentes pepper-sprayed Rose, pushed her to the ground, and broke her phone. He was subsequently arrested for assault but released the same day.
Fuentes has since reported receiving multiple death threats and expressed fear for his safety, underscoring the consequences of having his private details revealed publicly.
