Jota, a Portuguese winger, moved from Celtic to Al-Ittihad after completing a transfer to Saudi Arabia. He has signed an agreement for three years with the Saudi champion, joining Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
“Jota.. is.. officially yellow,” the club announced on Twitter, welcoming yet another European-based player to the country’s lucrative Pro League.
Marcelo Brozovic transferred from Inter Milan to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr earlier on Monday. Steven Gerrard, a Liverpool legend, has also been named the new manager of Al-Ettifaq.
Jota, 24, made an impression at Celtic, where he scored 21 goals in 62 games after signing on loan from Benfica. Last season, he won 2 Scottish League titles as well as a treble that included the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup.
“Everyone at Celtic Football Club wishes Jota success in his future career,” the club said in a statement.
