Prashant Kishore meets Sharad Pawar for the second time

On Monday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar met poll strategist Prashant Kishore for the second time almost in a week. These meetings are seen as an preparation to fight Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP in the upcoming election which is supposed to be held in 2024.

Earlier, Prashant Kishore and Sharad Pawar met on June 11 at NCP chief’s Mumbai home. The meeting continued for almost three hours. However, as per sources today’s meeting concluded within half an hour.

These discussions and meetings are perceived to be related with the 2024 elections. It is assumed that these closed door discussion might be of a third front, excluding BJP or Congress and a joint opposition candidate who would be eligible to confront Prime Minister Modi. Sources too suggests that many parties showed their willingness to get involved in such groupings.

Mamata Banerjee, one of the client of the poll strategist exclaimed, “I think all together, we can fight the battle for 2024. But let’s fight COVID first.” She won a third consecutive term and formed the West Bengal government for the third time. Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena leader too expressed about the need for an alliance of opposition parties at the national level. He further confirmed that he had been in a discussion on this matter with Sharad Pawar.

Prashant Kishore after being an instrumental part of the BJP’s 2014 Lok Sabha campaign, have stood to be the poll strategist of several non-NDA parties. In this year, he directed the poll strategy for DMK in Tamil Nadu assembly election and for TMC in West Bengal assembly election.
