The Sofia Coppola-written and -directed film “Priscilla” will reintroduce viewers to the world of Elvis Presley, but this time through the eyes of his wife, Priscilla Presley.
The movie’s trailer, which will be released in October, was released on Wednesday. The 45-second trailer, which features Jacob Elordi as Elvis and Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla, provides audiences a preview of what to expect from the film. One passage reads, “Priscilla, what about the males at school? There must be some attractive ones,” was received with a dismissive glance.

Phoenix composed the 106-minute movie’s original score; Thomas Mars, the band’s lead singer, is Coppola’s husband. The movie depicts their fame-infused romance, including Priscilla Beaulieu’s youthful first encounter with the already legendary Elvis, who was many years her senior, as well as their protracted courting and turbulent union. The biography “Elvis And Me,” which Priscilla co-wrote with Sandra Harmon in 1985, served as the basis for the film.
The 24 year old Spaeny has been in “On the Basis of Sex,” “Pacific Rim: Uprising,” and “Bad Times at the El Royale,” among other films. Elordi, a 25-year-old actor, is well-known for his roles in the blockbuster series “Euphoria,” the “The Kissing Booth” film series, and “2 Hearts.” Elvis Presley has been a cultural icon for fifty years, but thanks to the glowing reviews of Austin Butler’s portrayal of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film “Elvis,” interest in the late performer has grown.
However, “Elvis” glossed over his marriage to his bride. While the 10-year age difference and the couple’s connection are both evident to viewers, “Elvis” mostly ignores the startling fact that Priscilla and Elvis met in Germany in 1959, when Elvis was 24 and she was 14. Riley Keough has been appointed as the estate’s sole trustee, and Priscilla will be interred at Graceland.
