Priyanka Chopra recalls the ‘complicated decision’ behind Ram Chahe Leela in heartfelt Instagram post

Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about her experience filming the iconic song ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, calling the decision to say yes both complicated and creatively fulfilling.

Priyanka Chopra took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she shared a heartfelt Instagram post remembering the making of her iconic number Ram Chahe Leela from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Known for its sensual choreography and powerful storytelling, the 2013 song remains one of Priyanka’s most celebrated performances.

In the post shared on Thursday, Priyanka admitted that saying yes to the song wasn’t easy. “When Sanjay Sir came to me with this song, it was a complicated decision, but him as a filmmaker has always inspired me,” she wrote. The actor opened up about how Bhansali’s creative vision and their long conversations about art, music, and food finally convinced her to be part of the project. “Then he played the song.. and I knew I was her,” she added.

The song, composed by Bhansali, was brought to life through Ravi Varman’s cinematography and Vishnu Deva’s choreography. Dressed in a white saree, Priyanka danced alongside a group of performers, narrating the tragic love story of Ram and Leela through every move.

Recalling her prep days, she shared, “Vishnu Deva was magic! Him and I would rehearse during lunch breaks every day to perfect the dance sequences.” Priyanka’s appearance in the song came before her critically acclaimed role in Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani (2015). Fans last saw her in the action comedy Heads of State.
