PSG, Arsenal in race to sign Eduardo Camavinga

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are keeping tabs on Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

PSG is keeping a keen eye on the evolution of Eduardo Camavinga’s situation at Stade Rennais. Last May, reports from France revealed that the French international is highly talked about within the management of Paris Saint-Germain, although Arsenal is also pushing to try to secure the services of the Rennais midfielder. Stade Rennais have set a deadline for June 28 regarding a possible extension of his current contract until June 2022. If Camavinga refuses to sign this contract extension proposal, he will be officially listed on the transfer market by Rennais as they want to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2022.

And according to reports, there is so far only one way out in which the Eduardo Camavinga soap opera is brought to an end. According to information from reports in England, Camavinga’s entourage is not keen on signing a new contract with Stade Rennais as the player looks to leave the club this summer or the next. This is an ideal situation for PSG as they look to sign one of the big targets on their list in this transfer window.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is also planning an overhaul of Arsenal’s midfield with Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira all set to leave the English club. Arsenal will be looking to reinforce their midfield options with quality and Camavinga is a player that the north London club’s technical director Edu is keen on signing. Rennais have set an asking price of €50 million on the 18-year old French midfielder.
