Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy loses vote of confidence

CM V Narayanasamy of Puducherry today met the special session for a floor test for his 5 year old government which had been recently made a minority following number of resignations but faced a tough time as his Congress-led government lost the vote of trust in the legislative assembly.

The party lost its majority position as it had lost 6 MLAs in Jan and lost the other 2 on Feb 21. Opposition had 14 members in the House and the strength came down to 26 where 14 became the majority mark.  2 out of 5 Congress MLAs who have quit since Jan had joined Bharatiya Janta Party and Union Territory is expected to go to polls in April/May seeing the current scenario.
